With the arrival of summer and golf courses at their best the Faculty of Building Golf Society have a summer open event set in the heart of natural heathland. Ranked in the top 100 The Royal Ashdown Golf Club Forest is a course with 130 years of history and some of the most spectacularly natural fairways. It's a 'must play' and only one hour from London.
We are very pleased to announce our next event in Bath, where we will solve 'The Mystery of the Prince’s Stolen Statue'!
The season is well underway and the Faculty of Building Golf Society are holding a competitive golf challenge with the Chartered Surveyors North East Golf Society at Fulford Golf Club, Yorkshire 16th July 2025. Located close to the historic city of York.
Now we are well into our summer and the qiuieter month of August theres time enough to enjoy a round of Gold at one of the top courses. The Red Course at Frilford Heath is the original course laid out in 1908 by the five times open Champion J H Taylor.
A leisurely bike ride from Bristol to Bath along the railway path. Leaving Queens Square at 16:00, the ride will be at a relaxed pace so open to all, this also promotes networking en-route. Due to the leisurely pace, there is no need for lycra, so wear whatever you feel comfortable in.
This September we return to the Society's founding course in Bromsgrove. We have had superb golf at this course and this event in September is something to look forward to. The Blackwell Golf Club is a challenging 6250 yards 18-hole par 70. Founded in 1893 a nine-hole course was later re-opened in 1923 as an established Fowler & Simpson designed 18 hole which later was adapted by the gifted Herbert Fowler. Blackwell enjoys a fine reputation among amateur golfing circles and is featured in the top 100 courses in England. Following the Golf event, players will be invited to remain for a late lunch and the winners awards.
Blackwell Golf Course is situated on Agmore Road Bromsgrove, 10 minutes from Junction 1 of the M42 and Junction 4 of the M5 The post code; B60 1PY. The Golf event will be four ball format, players in pairs in a better ball Stableford competition. Also prizes for the best individual gross, nearest the pin(s) and longest drive. The competition rules will be played to WHS handicap. The competition winners will be awarded the Founders Cup and will be invited to play in the Annual National tournament at Ferndown Golf Club on 30th September 2025. If you have always wanted to learn how to make your favourite cocktails… then try it and find it tastes amazing… all whilst networking, this will be the event for you!
This event brings us to the end of the 2025 season, it's our first and hopefully there will be many more to come. Ferndown is an ideal course to hold our finals day, as it has hosted numerous many prestigious tournaments. It has a fine reputation, stunning outlook in pristine condition and has regularly been favorably compared to the world famous Augusta. A beautiful level Heathland course and always featured in the top 100 courses in England. Following the Golf, players will be invited to remain for a late lunch and the presentation of przes.
Ferndown Golf Club is situated on Golf Links Road, Ferndown just a few miles beyond Ringwood on route to Poole. (A lovely part of the South West. Take a few days off, its worth the trip). The post code; BH22 8BU. The Golf event will be four ball format, players in pairs, in a better ball Stablford competition. There will also be prizes for the best individual gross and the nearest the pin(s) and longest drive. The competition rules will be played to WHS handicap, two players better ball Stableford. The competition winners will be awarded the Finals Cup and receive an invitation to play again next year. This year's event is sponsored by Wren Environmental.

DRAG yourself, colleagues and friends to our Brunel Dinner at Ashton Gate, with a new format to the evening. Pre Dinner drinks will be held in the Lansdown Bar from 6.00pm
We have entertainment with the talented Abandoman and It is, as always, a great opportunity to catch up with old colleagues and make new connections throughout the evening.
