fbe Leeds - National Railway Museum Event Hosted by GRAHAM & Tubecon
We are delighted to invite you to an upcoming FBE Leeds event hosted by GRAHAM Construction at the iconic National Railway Museum in York.
The GRAHAM team are delivering the Central Hall as part of the transformation of the National Railway Museum, creating new spaces to improve experiences and explore the future of rail. Central Hall will serve as a new entrance and welcome building connecting the museum. Designed for all and built sustainably, Central Hall will provide level access throughout the museum for the first time. A new permanent space within the new building, called “Railway Futures: The Porterbrook Gallery”, will invite visitors to explore ideas of innovation and to imagine the future of rail travel through interactive engagement.
Co-hosted with Tubecon, the event will provide a fascinating insight into the challenges and opportunities presented by this unique heritage project. Julian Donnelly from GRAHAM and Andrew King from Tubecon will talk us through the scheme, covering materiality, logistics, buildability and the aesthetics of the structure.

Please note that all attendees will be required to bring and wear appropriate PPE, including:
Hard hat
Safety boots – must be toe and midsole protection and must be lace up ankle boots
High visibility vest/jacket
Eye Protection provided by GRAHAM
Gloves provided by GRAHAM
This promises to be an extremely interesting and informative event, offering members the opportunity to gain behind-the-scenes insight into a high-profile refurbishment within one of the UK’s most significant railway heritage sites.
