Event Details:
Martyn Woodhouse is the Programme Director for the Mace Dragados Joint Venture delivering HS2 Curzon Street Station in Birmingham, one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. Martyn's leadership of HS2 Curzon Street builds on an extensive track record of delivering major rail and transportation infrastructure.
Guy Fowler is a senior construction leader with over three decades of experience in the delivery of complex, high-profile projects and the strategic growth of key UK markets, with a particular focus on the West Midlands, East Midlands and North West regions. Guy provides operational leadership across major programmes, driving high standards in safety, quality, programme performance and client outcomes. Guy has expertise in large-scale sports, aviation, technology and commercial developments, and brings a collaborative, delivery-focused approach to working with clients, consultants, supply chain partners and wider industry stakeholders.
As part of the HS2 programme, Curzon Street will be the first brand-new intercity terminus station built in Britain since the nineteenth century, creating a transformational gateway for Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.
Mace's involvement in Curzon Street draws upon its successful transformation of Birmingham New Street Station, one of the most challenging live station redevelopment projects undertaken in the UK.
Martyn and Guy will talk through the development of the scheme, the challenges encountered along the way, and the lessons from taking a major city-centre project from concept through to delivery.
