BRANCH AWARDS CEREMONY
Recognising branch performance and volunteer contribution
As part of the fbe 80th year programme, we're introducing a Branch Awards moment to recognise the volunteer-led branches that drive events, engagement, and local community across the UK. The aim is to celebrate contribution, encourage healthy competition, and share best practice across the network - backed by real activity and outcomes.
What is it?
The Branch Awards Ceremony will be a focused component within an existing national reception event - a moment within the wider fbe 80th year celebrations to shine a light on the branches that are delivering consistently and making a real difference across the network.
A small number of awards will be presented - simple, positive, and designed to reflect genuine performance rather than gesture recognition
Why we’re doing it
Branches are the engine of fbe. They plan and deliver events, build local professional networks, represent the built environment in their region, and contribute voluntarily - often over long periods of time.
The Branch Awards are designed to:
Recognise branch effort and real outcomes.
Reinforce standards and shared learning across the network.
Encourage friendly competition and continuous improvement.
Spotlight what great looks like so other branches can learn from it.
Award Categories
Categories are currently in development. Examples under consideration include awards recognising:
Branch performance and event delivery.
Member engagement and growth.
Financial sustainability and contribution.
Charitable impact.
Outstanding volunteer service and contribution.
Full categories and criteria will be confirmed and shared with branch chairs ahead of the event.
How winners will be determined
Award decisions will be based on a combination of:
Branch activity and outcomes - events delivered, engagement, and impact.
Financial and charitable contribution where relevant.
Nominations for service-based recognition.
The intent is to keep the process data-led, transparent, and open to all branches, with clear criteria published in advance.
How branches can take part
Branch chairs and committees will be updated directly with confirmed categories and criteria, the nominations process where applicable, and event details once confirmed. Watch this space — more details coming as the 80th year programme develops.
