Event Details:

What makes a town attractive to private sector investment, and what makes an attractive investor for a local authority - this is at the core of our conversation on the power of partnership.

To reposition a town, celebrating and preserving its proud heritage, whilst at the same time looking forward to contemporary challenges and opportunities, local authorities and private investors are breaking down historical barriers of ‘them and us’ recognising how the power of partnership can unlock transformational change with a shared vision and commitment.

This is no easy task, with the combined pressures of political cycles and need for return on investment placing significant pressure on both parties. But with genuine collaboration and a shared end goal, we are starting to see how the towns across Greater Manchester can forge their own unique identity and sense of place within the wider circle of confidence radiating out from the regional centre.

We will hear from our keynote speaker - Andy Burnham followed by a panel discussion, led by Simon Bedford of Deloitte (our Guest Chair), we have invited a diverse collection of guest panellists to join the debate including Tim Heatley, Jessica Bowles and Caroline Simpson and will also open the floor to you, our audience, to put forward your questions and be part of the fbe conversation on the importance of our shared built environment.
