A message from the new National Chairman
As the new National Chairman of the Forum for the Built Environment(fbe) it is my honour and pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all our members across the country. We have a proud tradition, one which commenced over 70 years ago. The fact we continue to stand today as a focal point within the construction industry is a feat, I believe, every member can be proud of.
First, it is important to highlight the outstanding work, commitment, and leadership the departing National Chairman Howard Gadd has given us. It is through this work that we are now in a position to initiate our plans for growth and change, and I look forward to collaborating further with Howard in his new role as President of the fbe. On behalf of us all, I thank Howard for his energy and dedication these last 5 years.
I would also like to thank the board of directors for giving me the trust and support needed to take this fantastic organisation forward into its next exciting chapter.
Our core focus and values will always remain the same. We exist to assist you the member, to help create opportunities for growth and partnerships for you within this vibrant sector. We will continue to do this through all of the superb events provided by fbe branches throughout the UK.
However, this is a time for change. Functionality of the website will be addressed immediately, PR and media activity across all our platforms will be increased, and the way in which we operate and function as a national body will be reviewed with suggestions made for change in order for us to flourish in the current environment.
These changes to structure and processes are necessary to help start a period of sustained membership growth for our organisation, and to ensure that we continue to service you, the member for the next 70 years and well beyond that!
Thank you again for your support and I look forward to meeting you at one of our many events over the coming months.
David Jones
National Chairman
