British Science Festival

Bradford has secured the hosting of the internationally acclaimed British Science Festival. This means that thousands of businesses and individuals will be discussing scientific breakthroughs in their businesses or field of expertise amongst similar businesses and like minded people.

I have been approached by the British Science Association to see if construction related businesses would like to get involve in speaking, sharing information and sponsoring the festival. Below is a precis of the event. I have much more information and could send members a pack of information if they'd like to participate in this networking and high profiled and media covered event which is a first for the city.

Each year the British Science Association presents Europe's largest public Science Event – the British Science Festival. In September 2011 (10-15) we are pleased to be bringing the British Science Festival to Bradford in partnership with the University of Bradford, Bradford College, Bradford City Council, Yorkshire Forward and Space Connections.

The opportunities for companies to get involved in the festival are vast, whether your company is large or small, national or local. Whether you want to access the huge marketing and press potential the festival offers, promote your latest scientific and technological advances, showcase your CSR programme, or simply help support your local community, we can work with you in a way best suited to your business.

What is the British Science Festival?

The British Science Festivalconnects a huge range of people with scientists, engineers, technologists and social scientists. This is both to celebrate the sheer excitement of the latest developments but also to engage in open discussion about issues that interest and concern large numbers of people about scientific advancement.

Typically the Festival hosts over 200 events, with over 350 of the world's leading scientists, social scientists, technologists, engineers and science communicators. It averages attendances of 50-80,000 people each year with a reach of many millions through resulting media coverage. The programme offers something for everyone, with activity for families and schools groups, adults looking for entertainment and stimulating debate or professionals interested in the latest research.
