Aligning with the national drive to form industry strategic alliances (see separate story,
page 16), Newcastle Branch were one of the award sponsors at the Constructing
Excellence North East Region Awards Dinner.
Recognised as one of the UK's leading built environment awards, Constructing Excellence rewards best practice in construction through categories such as sustainability, innovation, health and safety and added value amongst others. Newcastle Branch sponsored the prestigious 'Project of the Year' category, which recognises a project team that has demonstrated the highest level of technical achievement, innovation and teamwork. Regional director Grahame Kelly was delighted to present Parsons Brinckerhoff with the award for the company's work on the Monkseaton High School project. Speaking after the event, Grahame said: "FBE Newcastle were delighted to sponsor the Project Team of the Year award as no other symbol of industry recognition has such a broad scope of appeal to the organisation's members. By aligning with Constructing Excellence we are confirming to members, both current and prospective, that FBE is at the forefront of the built environment."
