The Great Western branch's annual and ever popular Christmas lunch was held at the Thistle Grand Hotel in Bristol on the 10th December. As usual this was very well attended with around 380 people attending which was slightly more than previous years.
The Chairman, Mark West, welcomed all the guests who then sat down to a sumptuous three course lunch.
Lunch was followed by lively entertainment, delivered by comedian Martin Gold who was introduced by Eric Livingston, a Committee Member and organiser of the lunch. Martin is one of the finest comedians in the country and kept the guests laughing throughout.
The event finished with a Charity Draw which was in aid of Ryan Bresnahan, a young man who tragically died of Meningitis. Ryan was the son of John Bresnahan, a local and well known property developer. Naturally, he and his family are devastated at the loss of their son and set up Ryan Brenahan's Meningitis Appeal. A sum of around £3,500 was donated to the Appeal. Prizes were donated from Hoare Lea; Stride Treglown; Ashfords and the Thistle Grand Hotel.
