Celebrating its First Birthday

Derby Branch has enjoyed a successful year, culminating in its first birthday event, a breakfast seminar, at the Derby Property and Business Investment Show, Pride Park. Newly elected Branch officials, vice chairman, Melanie Cartlidge (Alpha Construction) and event coordinator, Wendy Andrew (Furnish for Living) welcomed the 40 strong
contingent and guest speaker, Paul Shields, head of acoustics and vibration, Scott Wilson Ltd. This was followed by a lunch meeting in June at The Quad, Derby's arts centre, with Adam Wilkinson, chief executive of Derby City Council as guest speaker.
Melanie said: "fbe in Derby is really beginning to take shape now, we have a regular group of attendees at events and our membership is on the rise, which is something we are continuing to target for 2010 and beyond. Support from the other Branches within the Region is fantastic with many members travelling a fair distance to attend events, this clearly demonstrates the popularity of fbe within the East Midlands."
