Supporting Wooden Spoon

FBE have always been active within local communities across our regions and now we are proud to be supporting children's charity Wooden Spoon.
Founded in 1983, Wooden Spoon is dedicated to helping disadvantaged children and young people across the UK live happier, richer lives.

The charity is one of the largest funders of respite and medical treatment centres, sensory enhancement therapeutic facilities, specialist playgrounds, sports activity areas, and community-based programmes in the UK. So far they have granted over £20 million to these fantastic projects.

Wooden Spoon is partnered with the UK rugby community including some of rugby's top sporting role models who provide support and help raise awareness of their invaluable work.

The charity comprises of 40 regional volunteer committees, a central national team and over 10,000 members. Regional committees undertake many local fundraising activities with the money raised being spent on projects within the local community. Unlike many other charities, Wooden Spoon does not receive public funding and is therefore dependent on membership, supporters and volunteers to raise funds for their causes.

During their first 30 years in operation, over a million young people have benefited from more than £20 million in charitable support throughout projects up and down the country.
